Put the verses over the camera with a video switcher (ATEM, Roland)

The video switcher feed is the livestream lower third on solid green. Send it into the switcher and key the green out to put the verse over the camera. Starter and Church plans.

  1. 1

Open Settings → Livestream & stage and switch it on.

  2. 2

Connect a spare video output of this computer (HDMI) to an input on the switcher, and set Windows or macOS to extend the display onto it.

  3. 3

Next to Video switcher feed, click Copy. Open the address in a browser on that output and make it full screen (F11 on Windows, Control-Command-F on a Mac).

  4. 4

On the switcher, put that input on a chroma key (upstream key) over the camera, and pick the green as the key colour.

  5. 5

Show a verse as normal. It appears over the camera, and disappears when you clear the screen.

Good to know
  • Using OBS, vMix or Wirecast instead? Use the Livestream overlay, which has a see-through background and needs no keying.
  • Use the Bottom strip for scripture on the projector too, so the room sees the verse without it covering the preacher.
